Start your East London Christmas tour at Boxpark in Hackney with a ‘Lovebullets’ tree decorated with their signature ‘shot out of a lethal weapon’ styling. Whilst in Shoreditch enjoy some festive mulled wine at the cosy Aladdin’s cave that is Casita Bar. Discover the Geffrye Museum Christmas Past exhibition with 400 Years of Seasonal Traditions in English Homes on display from 26 November until 5 January. East London is the perfect spot to pick up your fresh real Christmas tree from Ely’s Yard Brick Lane a forest of trees in a rustic setting Pines and Needles or at Growing Concerns nestled between the Grand Union Canal and Victoria Park.

Continue to Westfield Stratford City, pick up your Christmas Jumper and join in a Westfield Christmas Jumper skate. There’s Santa’s 5D Personalised Grotto with 5D effects of wind, lights and ‘elf dust’ until 24th December.

Proceed to Canary wharf winter ‘fLUMENS‘ illuminations wind powered colour changing LED lights in middle dock, arranged in sail shape on display from Monday December 16th until the end of January. Enjoy a Skate on the romantic Canary Wharf Ice Rink skate path, nestled among the trees, sky scrapers and fairy lights. Whilst your there pop in to the Victorian 19th Century Christmas Sailor town Santa’s grotto at Museum of London Docklands from 14-23rd December.

Next stop is the City of London’s Watling Street full of Christmas character draped in lights lining the streets leading to St Paul’s Cathedral. Continue towards the One New Change roof terrace and take in glowing London skyline. See London beautifully illuminated after dark at the Tower of London Ice Rink and head towards Somerset House picturesque skate rink, wander through the Christmas arcade and enjoy a late night DJ skate.

Quirky Christmas Experiences

  1. Fish Market’ Funfair Terrace in the heart of the City is the perfect place to cozy up with a mug of hot spiced cider in the heated and covered terrace, complete with a wall of twinkling fairy lights, snow globes, sumptuous blankets and funfair-inspired decorations. Try out one of the bar’s alcoholic snow cones from 1st November to 24th December.
  2. Forza Winter Italian feast in a disused pickle factory in Hackney. Tickets to Forza Winter are £35 which gets you a hot Italian Punch on arrival followed by a communal Italian feast.
  3. Queen of Hoxton winter wigwam Inspired by the northern lights.
